02 May Meat-filled buns

1 sachet of Saf-Instant yeast (11 g)
500 g of flour
1 tbsp of sugar
50 g of grated Swiss cheese (eg. Gruyère)
300 ml of milk
30 g of butter
200 g of minced beef
1 diced onion
1 tsp of salt
1 pinch of pepper
For the filling: brown the onion in a pan with a dash of oil and the salt and pepper, then add the mince and allow to cook through.
Remove from heat and add the cheese.
In a bowl, combine the flour, Saf-Instant yeast, sugar, salt and the butter.
Add the egg then the milk and mix until a consistent dough is formed. Leave to rest for 30 mins.
Shape dough into balls, then press a small quantity of filling into the centre of each and close the dough fully over the filling.
Using a pastry brush, coat the balls with milk and leave to rise for 30 mins.
Bake in oven at 240°C until the buns turn a golden colour.
