Chocolate and apple buns

Ingredients

– 333g strong white flour
– 60g wholemeal flour
– 60g sugar
– 7g salt
– 40g butter
– 1 egg yolk
– ½ 11g sachet of Saf-instant Baker’s dry yeast
– 80ml water
– 60g chocolate chips
– 60g apple

Preparation

1. In a bowl, mix the flours, sugar, salt, egg yolk, softened butter and water then add the yeast mixed with a little water.

2. Mix with a spatula for 2 minutes then add the diced apple and the chocolate chips.

3. Mix and knead again until you have an even consistency.

4. Bring the dough into a ball, put it back in the bowl and cover with a damp cloth.

5. Leave to rest in a warm place for 45 minutes.

6. Divide the ball into 12 equal parts, each around 60 g in weight, then cover and leave to rest for 10 minutes.

7. Shape into small buns, put them on a baking sheet, cover and leave to rest for 60 minutes.

8. Bake for around 15 minutes in an oven preheated to 200°C.
